HVAC is getting me through my rookie winter

Well, I made it to March and that’s indeed something.

If you had asked me back in November if I thought I could make it to March, I’m not sure I could have answered that.

But now that we are inching ever closer to Spring, I think I may actually survive my rookie northern Winter. Yet, had it not been for that gas furnace and the realtor who pushed me on the issue, I’m not so sure that I would be where I am. However, I think maybe this is going to work out. I just completely underestimated the sort of Winter I was going to be taking on when I moved up here. That was sort of part of the whole thing about following your heart. You just do it and then deal with whatever happens. And I’m definitely in love because along with surviving the Winter, I proposed. My girlfriend and I moved up here when she got a once in a career opportunity at a local museum. Since I can work anywhere there is internet, I decided to accept the invitation to join her. It was that or we were going to have to call it quits. We had both experienced long distance relationships and they sucked. So that wasn’t an option. For a southern boy to willingly leave a Winter that needs practically no heating for this sort of mess, it has to be real love. And I’m now in love with the new gas furnace that we negotiated for when we bought this house together. Hard to believe that in one Winter, I became a fiance and a homeowner.
